Closed in South Milwaukee

In the morning ride my bike to the Warnimont Dog Park. Lock my bike up. Walk around South Milwaukee. Everything is closed for the holiday. Struggle mightily on this walk. My body needs a rest. Ride my bike back home. It rains the rest of the day. Watch “First Blood” (1982).

A polka band and some fireworks

In the morning ride my bike up the Oak Leaf trail to Capitol Drive. Lock my bike up at Culver’s. Walk west on Capitol Drive to 60th Street. Walk north to Hampton Avenue. Walk east to Lincoln Park. Walk through the park. Stop to see a Polka band performing at the Beer Garden. Walk back to my bike. Ride home. At sunset walk to the lakefront. Check out the crowd of people gathered to watch the fireworks. Walk up to Northpoint. Walk home . Watch the fireworks from my deck.

North to North Avenue

In the morning ride my bike back to Hawley Road. Lock it up again at the Hawley Environmental School. Walk north to North Avenue. Walk east to 35th Street. Walk south to Wisconsin Avenue. Walk west back to my bike. Ride home. In the late afternoon ride my bike south to South Shore Marina. Walk south along Lake Michigan to the Cudahy border. Walk back to my bike. Ride it home as it starts to rain.

Oh, you didn’t have to!

In the morning walk to the office. Work on a few files. Drive to Lorena’s house. Give Xena a makeup kit and a Winx Club coloring book with crayons. She says: “Oh, you didn’t have to do!”. She sounds like a grown-up. We race up and down the sidewalk. In the afternoon ride my bike west to Hawley Road. Lock it up at Hawley Environmental School. Walk north to Capitol Drive. Walk east to 43rd Street. Walk south to Wisconsin Avenue. Walk back to my bike while my legs hurt real bad.

Midtown Center

In the morning walk to the office. Work on a few files. In the afternoon ride my bike out to Capitol Drive. Lock it up at Culver’s. Walk west on Capitol Drive out to 60th Street. Walk past Midtown Center. Walk south to North Avenue. Walk east to the Oak Leaf trail. Walk back to my bike. Struggle mightily towards the end. Ride my bike back home. At night watch “The World According to Garp” (1982).

Have hope

In the morning watch the end of “The Last Days of Pompeii’ (1935). Drive to the Monroe County Courthouse. Go in for a sentencing hearing. Everyone calls my client a “monster”. I plead for ask for everyone to have hope for him anyway. Client is maxed out. Life in prison. Drive back to Milwaukee. Walk up Prospect Avenue. Walk out to Capitol Drive. Walk to Culver’s. Eat a cheeseburger and drink a strawberry malt. Walk back home on the Oak Leaf trail.

Not much has changed here

In the morning pack up for a trip back to Sparta. Drive to the Monroe County Jail. Go in for a consultation. Later walk around Sparta. No much has changed here the past three months. Feel lonely and depressed. Walk back to the hotel. Watch “Goodfellas” (1990).

To Lake Park

In the morning walk to the office. Work on a few files. In the afternoon walk along the lakefront to Lake Park. Walk up the large outdoor staircase to Lake Park. Walk back home.

Almost 50,000

In the morning walk south on 6th Street past Lincoln Avenue. Walk east to 1st Street. Walk back home. In the afternoon walk south to Bay View. Walk to South Shore Park. Walk south to Cudahy. Walk back home. My knee is very sore. Almost hit 50,000 steps.
