South to Kansasville

In the morning drive south to the Town of Dover. Walk south into Kansasville. It is all farms down here. It is sunny and nice and the skies are blue. Walk back to my car. Drive home.

Discarded chips

In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for consultations. Drive home. Eat lunch. Drive back to the courthouse. Walk over to the State Office Building for a lecture on competency issues in criminal procedure. Walk back to the courthouse. On my way see a goose eating discarded chips. Do two court hearings. Drive west to a Japanese steakhouse for dinner. Drive to Heather’s house to eat a birthday cake in honor of Elise. Drive home.

In the morning walk to the office. Work on many different projects. Walk home. Eat lunch. Walk south to Bay View. Walk east to the Lake Michigan car ferry port. Walk back home. Listen to BBC radio drama about the life of Alexander the Great.

In the morning drive to the courthouse. It is raining again today. Go in for a hearing. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work the rest of the day. It keeps on raining. At night watch “The Godfather” (1972).

In the morning drive to the jail. It is raining heavily. Go in for a consultation. Drive out to the House of Correction. Still raining. Go in for a consultation. Drive to Culver’s. Eat at the same booth that Olivia Rodrigo sat in when she came here last month. Drive home. Lay on the couch for thirty minutes. Drive to the courthouse. Still fucking raining hard. Go in for a couple of hearings. Drive home. Still raining. Give up for the day. Go to bed early.

Easter basket

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a pre-trial hearing and a preliminary hearing. Drive to Target. Put together an Easter basket for Xena. Drive to Lorena’s house. Xena is happy to get the Easter basket. We run around the back yard and imagine all kinds of crazy stuff. We even recreate an epic apocalyptic battle between good and evil. Which side wins depends on which side Xena picks to play of course. Drive back to the courthouse. Go in for two more hearings. Drive home. Walk north on Prospect Avenue. Stop at Ian’s for a burned piece of pizza that is all right actually. Walk south on Farwell Avenue. Walk up Brady Street. Stop to buy Girl Scout Cookies from a mom while her daughter, the actual Girl Scout, is playing with her friends and not paying attention to the cookie sale. Eat a half a box of cookies while walking home in a good mood. What an epic week I had!
