Don't Worry, Be Happy
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a sentencing hearing. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Eat lunch. Walk to acupuncture appointment. My upper back in between my shoulder blades has been hurting. Leave very tired. Walk around the MSOE campus. Walk back home. Lay on the couch.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for hearings. Walk over to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. In the afternoon drive back to the courthouse. Go in for another hearing. Drive home. Walk down to the lakefront. Blue skies finally!!! Find a ton of geese minding their own business. Throw out a bag of bread and really stir them up. Walk to the Brady Street bridge. Walk north on Brady Street. Walk back home.
In the morning drive down to Kenosha. Park up the street from the courthouse. Walk north to 52nd Street. Walk west to Green Bay Road. Along the way walk past Shenanigan’s Liqour store and bar. Walk south to 85th Street. Walk south to the lakefront. Walk back to my car. Drive home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work on getting files ready for next week. Walk home. In the afternoon walk down to the lakefront. The snow is melting off everywhere. Find a bunch of geese hanging out in a soccer field. Throw out bread to them. Spread it around as much as possible so everyone gets some. Walk back home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Walk over to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk back to do another hearing. Drive home. Eat lunch. Drive back to the courthouse. Go in for an emotional sentencing hearing. Drive to the car dealership. Sign a lease on a new car. Drive it home in the rain.
In the morning do a telephone consultation with a client in prison. Walk to the office. Do more consultations with prisoners. One over Zoom video and another over the telephone. Walk home. Drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Walk to the law library on the ground floor. Do legal research on issues for an appeal case. Drive home. At night watch “Emperor” (2012).
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go to six different courts for nine cases. Get it all done quickly actually. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work all afternoon. Walk to an optical store to order some new glasses. Walk home. Clean out my car. At night watch “K-19: The Wdowmaker” (2002).
In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. Walk home. Clean the filter on the fish tank. In the afternoon drive to the jail. Go in for consultations. Walk down the hall to room G-55. Do a preliminary hearing there. Drive home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for jury trial. Spend the whole day there. Pick a jury. Present arguments and evidence to the jury. They go out to vote. They come back with a quick verdict. Get the whole trial done in a day. Drive home.
In the morning drive south to Kenosha. Park near the lakefront. Walk south along Lake Michigan. Walk west and north around the Kenosha County Courthouse. Walk north a ways on Sheridan Road. Turn around as the sun sets and walk back to my car. Drive home.
