In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Client does a lot of yelling. Drive home. Lay on the couch and scroll for memes for every minute the client was yelling. In the afternoon drive back to the courthouse. Go in for a plea and sentencing hearing. Client gets a very favorable sentence. He is satisfied. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk down to the lakefront. Find a pair of geese minding their own business. Throw out bread to them. They gobble it all up. Walk to Northpoint. Stop at Ian’s for two slices of pizza. Walk home.

Hard to see on the road to a haircut

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for several hearings. Drive home. It is raining heavily. Drive to get a haircut. It is hard to see on the road. Drive home. Clean the house. The rain lets up a little. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home.

Night of the Comet

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Everything hurts this morning. The debt to my body for all the hiking I have done the past several days has come due. Go in for a hearing. Drive home. Walk to the office. Struggle to put one foot in front of the other. Work for a while. Walk back home. Drive out to the House of Correction. Go in for consultations. Drive to Sam’s Club. Buy crates of Diet Coke and Ice Mountain water. Drive to Farm and Fleet. Buy bird seed. Drive home. Lay on the couch in agony. Watch “Night of the Comet” (1984).

Frog hopping in winter

In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Drive to Dousman. Get out and walk west on the Glacial Drumlin trail. See a frog hopping along the trial. It is still winter. No matter, it is 70 degrees out here. Turn around after a couple of hours and walk east on Highway 18. Walk back to my car. Drive to Oconomowoc. Walk around briefly. Stop at Marty’s for a pizza. Drive home.

Past the Racine Correctional Institution

In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Eat lunch. Drive to the Highway 20 off ramp from I-94. Walk east past the Racine Correctional Institution. Walk south to Durand Avenue. Walk west back to the car. Drive home after sunset.

Take in the setting sun

In the morning drive to Franksville. Get out and walk east and south on Northwestern Avenue. Walk south to Durand Avenue. Walk west past the Regency Mall that is being torn down. Walk north back to my car. Drive to Oak Creek. Walk around Drexel Town Square. Walk out onto a nature trial to take in the setting sun. Drive home. At night watch the 96th annual Academy Awards show.

South to Greenfield Avenue

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Drive to 84th and Bluemound Road. Walk west to Hawley Road. Walk south to Greenfield Avenue. Walk north back to 84th Street. Walk back to the car. Drive home. At night watch “American Fiction” (2023).

Dune: Part 2

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. Walk over to the U.S. Bank Tower. Go to the Downtown Kitchen for a cheeseburger and fries. Walk back to the office. Keep working. Walk home in the rain and get very wet. Drive to Mayfair Mall. Go in to see “Dune: Part 2” (2024). Enjoy the picture. Drive home.

Trip to Costa Rica

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a couple of hearings. Judge shows me pictures of her trip to Costa Rica. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Drive to Hawley Road. Walk south to Lincoln Avenue. Walk west to 84th Street. Walk north to the Hank Aaron trail. Walk east back to my car. Drive home.

Go in for a preliminary hearing. Drive home. Drive to Hawley Road. Walk south to Lincoln Avenue. Walk west to 84th Street. Stop at a taco stand. They are not as good as Los Comales are. Walk north to Greenfield Avenue. Walk to the Hank Aaron trail. Walk east back to my car. Drive home.
