Don't Worry, Be Happy
In the morning drive to Main Street in Menomonee Falls. Walk north through Germantown. Walk all the way to Friestadt Road. Walk east to Swan Road. Walk south to the City of Milwaukee. Walk back to my car. Drive home. Walked through four counties: Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee and Milwaukee.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a jury trial. Client doesn’t show up. No trial today. Walk over to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Eat lunch. In the afternoon drive back to the courthouse. Go in for several hearings. Drive home.
In the morning drive out to Franklin. Walk south to Ryan Road. Walk east to Cape Road. Walk north back to my car. Drive to Lorena’s house. Xena is there!!! We run around the yard. We play tag. We play hide and seek. We talk. We run around some more. Drive home.
In the morning clean the kitchen. Walk to the office. Work briefly. Walk home. Clean the rest of the house. Walk back to the office. Work briefly. Walk home. Walk down to Lakeshore State Park. Walk back home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a plea and sentencing hearing. Drive home. In the afternoon walk up Prospect Avenue to Lake Park. Walk north to Capitol Drive. Stop at Culver’s for a cheeseburger. Walk home down the Oak Leaf trail. See a bright orange full moon rising in the sky.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a quick hearing. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Drive to Green Bay. Walk around Lambeau Field. Walk south. Walk east. Walk back to my car. Walk back to Lambeau Field. See hundreds of drunk people. See one guy throwing up in the parking lot. Go into the game and watch the Detroit Lions beat the Packers. Drive home.
In the morning drive back to the courthouse. The jury trial that was supposed to start on Monday morning now gets adjourned to another day. Drive home. Take a nap. At night watch “The Steel Helmet” (1951).
In the morning drive back to the courthouse. Get into picking a jury. Half the panel says they will be biased against the client. That jury panel is thrown out. Another whole day wasted. Drive home. Walk north along Prospect Avenue to North Avenue. Walk along the river back downtown while listening to the debut album of the band “Nonbinary Girlfriend”. It puts me in a good mood.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for jury trial. Waste the whole day doing something close to nothing. Don’t even start picking a jury. Drive home. At night walk up Prospect Avenue to North Avenue. Walk back home.
In the morning drive out to Hartland. Get out and walk north to Rybeck Road. Walk past the Woodfield Village subdivision. Walk west on Beaver Lake Road out to Stone Bank. Walk south across Highway 16. Listen to the Green Bay Packers comeback win over the NewOrleans Saints. Walk back to my car. Drive home.
