In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for consultations. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Walk north along the river out to Locust Street. Walk back home.

Surrounded by squawking

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive home. Walk to the office. Do a zoom meeting with an expert on a case regarding the psychology of false confessions. Walk home. Walk down to the lakefront. See a bunch of geese. Start tossing out bread. More and more fly in. Soon I am surrounded by squawking.

Icy breakwater

In the morning drive to Brown Deer. Walk for a few minutes. Drive to Cedarburg. Walk for longer. Drive to Port Washington. Hike along Lake Michigan. Venture out on the icy breakwater. Drive home.

Continues all week

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Walk over to the Secure Detention Facility. Go in for a consultation that goes well. Drive home. Eat lunch. Walk to the office. Work all afternoon. Walk home. The artic cold continues all week.

Didn’t go down that way

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for several hearings. Expected some fireworks from a couple of clients. Didn’t go down that way at all. Drive home. Eat lunch. Drive back to the courthouse for another hearing. Drive home.

Reacher

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. Walk home. Eat lunch. Walk back to the office. Keep working. Walk home. Binge watch epsiodes of season one of “Reacher” (2022). It started out good but then went off the rails at the end.

Wears out my mind

In the morning do a phone consultation with a client in prison. Drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Do another phone consultation. Drive to the House of Correction. Go in for two consultations. Drive to Pick N’ Save. Do some grocery shopping. Drive home. All the consulting wears out my mind.

Want a ride in my car?

In the morning drive to Waukesha. Go to the same parking lot where the George Webb is. Walk south and keep going after crossing Sunset Drive. It is windy and cold. Two different women stop their cars on the highway and get out and ask me to go for a ride with them. I keep walking. The sun comes out towards the end of the hike. Drive home.
