Don't Worry, Be Happy
In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. In the afternoon drive to Brookfield Square. Walk north on Pilgrim Road to Burleigh Road. Walk west to Calhoun Road. Walk south to Bluemound Road. Walk back to the car. Drive home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work the rest of the morning. Walk home. Take a nap. Wake up. Drive to Lorena’s house. Play in the backyard with the toys that I got Xena for Christmas. We pretend to work on a construction site with the tool kit. At some point Xena turns around with a maniacal look on her face and says: “It’s killing time!!”. She proceeds to cut me up with the chainsaw. Good times.
In the morning drive to Bluemound Road in Brookfield. Park near Calhoun Road. Walk east to 124th Street. Walk through a subdivision. See a girl proudly riding the new scooter she got as a present this Christmas morning. Walk north to Burleigh Street. Walk east back to Calhoun Road. Walk south to my car. It starts raining. Drive home. At night watch the Doctor Who Christmas special.
In the morning drive to Lorena’s house. Drop off Christmas presents for her and for Xena. Drive to the Watertown Plank Road park and ride. Walk east through Wauwatosa. Walk south on 68th Street to the Hank Aaron trail. Walk east to Hawley Road. Walk west to Highway 100. Walk north back to my car. Listen to the Packers hang on to win over the Carolina Panthers 33-30.
In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Drive to Sam’s Club. Go in and buy Diet Coke and Ice Mountain water and toys for Xena. Drive home. Eat lunch. In the afternoon walk west on St. Paul Avenue. Walk north through the Marquette Campus. Walk to Highland Boulevard. Walk back downtown. Walk home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive to Target. Go in to buy Christmas presents. Drive to Lorena’s house. Today Xena wants me hide things around the yard and make her go and find them, like a Treasure Hunt. We have fun. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work briefly. Walk north to the Marquette Campus. Walk north to Highland Boulevard. It starts to rain. Walk downtown. Walk back home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work on several things. Walk home. Drive to Lorena’s house. Run around the backyard with Xena. Give her a BlackPink hat. She pulls it over her eyes and pretends to be blind. Drive home. In the afternoon walk west to 27th Street. Walk south past Lincoln Avenue. Walk north on 16th Street. Stop at Los Comales for tacos. Walk home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Walk over to another courtroom and wait in the hallway for a client that never shows up. Drive home. Eat lunch. In the afternoon drive back to the courthouse for another hearing. Drive home. Feel burned out and exhausted all day.
In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. Walk home. Eat lunch. In the afternoon walk to the U.S. Bank Tower. As big as it is, if it were in New York City, it wouldn’t even make it on their list of 100 tallest skyscrapers. Walk north on Prospect Avenue to North Avenue. Follow the river back downtown. Walk home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for two jury trials. One pleads out and the other is adjourned. In the afternoon take a nap. Don ‘t do much the rest of the day. Lay around on the couch and watch the entire “The Martian Chronicles” series from 1980.
