Coat on backwards

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for quick hearings. Walk over to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work on a trial outline for a second case set for Monday. Do a court hearing over Zoom. Drive to Lorena’s house. Play with Xena in the backyard. She puts her coat on backwards. Then I scream out: “Its the girl with no face!”. Then she corrects me: “I have a face!” and pulls down her hood. Drive to Bay View to pick up a fish fry dinner. Drive home.

Play with the dolls

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a sentencing hearing. Drive home. Walk to the office. Write up a trial outline for a case next week. Drive to Lorena’s house. Xena gets out the dolls. We play with the dolls. The girls are driving all over town to go to parties, to get pizza, and to meet boys. These girls are wild. Drive home. Go to Orangetheory. Weight lifting on the floor and run over a mile on the treadmill.

Haven’t been here since

In the morning walk to the office. Do court hearings over Zoom. Walk to the U.S. Bank Tower for lunch. I haven’t been here since the pandemic shut everything down. It seemed mostly the same as I remembered. Walk back to the office. Do more court hearings over Zoom. Run home in the rain. Go to Orangetheory. I haven’t been here since July. Felt good to have gone back.

So full of energy today

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a jury trial. Case pleads out. Drive home. Take a nap. In the afternoon drive to Lorena’s house. Xena is so full of energy today. We race up and down the sidewalk. I carry her on my shoulders and she pretends to be an airplane. We have another leaf fight. Drive home. Walk down to the lakefront. It is sunny and nice out.

Brookfield, the Zoo and a mouse in my car

In the morning drive to a parking lot off Capitol Drive and 108th Street. It is a chilly morning. The Packers kickoff at 8:30 A.M. They are playing in London. Walk west to Calhoun Drive. Walk south to Bluemound Road. Walk west to the Milwaukee County Zoo. Walk around. The animals are well behaved but several kids are throwing tantrums all over the place. Walk north on 108th Street back to my car. Pick up a pizza. See a mouse that is living in my car. It runs and hides. Drive home.

Just too tired

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a couple of hearings. Drive to Sam’s Club to get Diet Coke. Drive home. Crash out. Too tired to move. Too tired to even sleep properly. Just too tired. Watch “The Witch” (2015).

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. In the afternoon walk west to 27th Street. Walk south to Lincoln Avenue. Walk west to American Family Field. Last game of the season. Walk home as I listen to the Brewers lose the game.
