In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for hearings. Drive to Hartland. Go to the funeral home for my cousin’s funeral. Walk across the street to the VFW hall for the Irish wake. Drive home. Go for a walk. See Kristine drive by and talk to her for a short while.

Attempt to cross the river

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive home. Eat lunch. Drive back to the courthouse. Go in for another hearing. Drive home. Walk south to Walker’s Point. Attempt to cross the river over the Canal Street bridge but it is closed. Walk west and take the winding stariwell up to the 16th Street viaduct. Cross the river from there. Walk back home. Talk for an hour on the phone with Kristine.

Hester Street

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Walk across the street to the Secure Detention building. Go in for a consultation. Walk back to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive home. Watch “Hester Street” (1975). Drive back to the courthouse. Go in for another hearing. Drive home.

Discovery World museum

In the morning drive to the courthouse for a motion hearing. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Walk down to the lakefront. Find a goose chilling by the Discovery World museum. Toss out bread to it. Walk home.

Jan Van Eyck

In the morning clean the house. Walk south to Walker’s Point. Walk west to 13th Street. Walk back home. Listen to a podcast about the painter Jan Van Eyck. Drive to Heather’s house. Eat a steak dinner off the grill. Drive home.

Between Waukesha and Washington

In the morning drive to the border between Waukesha and Washington County. Walk north to Holy Hill Road. Walk west a ways. Walk south again. Walk back to my car. Out here over six hours. Drive home in a daze.

All of our wars

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Walk to the lakefront. Walk though a field of American flags placed out to honor the dead from all of our wars over the years. Walk north to Bradford Beach. Walk back home.

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for hearings. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Walk out to Lakeshore State Park. Walk across the island. Walk west to the Post Office. Send out a package to a client in prison. Walk home.

Sweet sentence

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for several hearings. Drive home. In the afternoon drive back to the courthouse for a plea and sentencing hearing. Client gets a sweet sentence for getting caught with a huge amount of drugs. Drive home. Walk to the grocery store. Walk home.
