Sit through long sentencing on another case. Go home. Too tired to go for a walk. Depressed. Fall asleep early. Missed a golden sunset tonight.
Jet fighters overhead
In the morning walk along the lakefront to Whitefish Bay. Walk along the stands for the Air and Water show. Walk south to Capitol Drive. Walk up to Teutonia Avenue. Walk back downtown. Jet fighters fly overhead again and again as I walk through the north side. At night watch “Fight Club” (1999).
Brewers in extra innings
In the morning walk up Martin Luther King Drive to North Avenue. Walk to Sherman Blvd. Walk to Washington Park. Walk down Wisconsin Avenue. At night walk to Miller Park. Listen to the Brewers come back win over the Chicago Cubs in extra innings. In a very good mood.
Continue jury trial
Walk to the courthouse in the morning. Continue jury trial. For lunch walk to Burger King again. Walk back to court in the afternoon to continue jury trial. Walk home. Walk by the Fiserv Forum along the way. In a very good mood. Tired at the end of a long week. Go to bed early.
Nice day to walk to court
Walk to the courthouse in the morning. Nice and sunny and warm. Walk to the courthouse in my suit and tie with a backpack full of files. Go to jury trial. Walk to Burger King again for lunch. Continue jury trial all afternoon. Walk back home. Take a short walk to the lakefront up to the Brady Street Bridge. Walk back home along the Oak Leaf Trail.
The band is done playing
Wake up early. Go to court to continue jury trial. Jury trial goes a little sideways. Objections, arguments concerning the defendant’s 6th Amendment right to confrontation, even a motion for a mistrial. Walk up Wells Street and go to Burger King for lunch. Go back to court for jury trial all afternoon. At sunset walk along the lakefront to Northpoint. Walk up North Avenue. Walk along the river back downtown. Stop at the concert at Denim Park. The band is done playing. Drinking beer already. Walk down to Pere Marquette Park. The river rhythms concert is underway. Not much of a crowd. Another nice warm evening. Calm winds. No clouds. Summer glow all around me.
River lights
Go to court in the morning to continue jury trial. Walk down to Old World Third Street to get lunch. All the restaurants are overflowing with NorthWest Mutual employees in town for their convention. The lines are long at the pizza places too. Walk back to MATC to get a brat from a street vendor. Sit on a bench and eat it. Go back to court to continue jury trial. Make very little progress. Only get through one witness. At sunset walk along the lakefront to NorthPoint. Walk up North Avenue. Walk down to Kadish Park. Walk past the Skyline concert. Walk along the riverwalk back downtown. The river is all lit up by the glow of the city lights. Calm and warm evening tonight.
Musical Monday
In the morning go to the Safety Building for hearings in several courts. Go home for a quick lunch. Go back to court for jury trial. Start jury selection. The courtroom is very warm. After dinner walk along the lakefront to Lake Park. Walk by the Musical Monday concert. Walk back home as the sun sets. It was a perfect evening. Warm temperatures, low humidity, no clouds, no wind, and a golden sunset. Spectacular. In a very good mood tonight.
Snarly little dog
In the morning walk along the lakefront to Northpoint. Walk west on North Avenue. Walk along the river back downtown. Do a water change on the fish tank. Go to the office to pack up files for Monday. Walk up St. Paul Avenue to 16th Street. Walk south to Cleveland Avenue. Walk west to Miller Park Way. Along the way see a little dog on the sidewalk. This little dog snarls at me when I stop to take his picture. Snarly little dog. Stop at Culver’s. Walk down National Avenue back downtown. Watch “For All Mankind” (1998), a documentary on the Apollo moon landings.
Quite a sight to behold
In the morning go to Sam’s Club to get soda and water. Thunderstorms cover the city all day. Watch “Apollo 11” (2019). 50 years since the moon landing. At sunset walk up St. Paul Avenue to 16th Street. Walk south to Oklahoma Avenue. Walk east to Lake Michigan. Go to South Shore beach. Look out to see Lake Michigan totally covered in fog. The sky is all it up. Quite a sight to behold.
