Don't Worry, Be Happy
In the morning drive to the courthouse for several hearings. Walk by this year’s courthouse Christmas tree as it is being set up. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for awhile. Get a bunch of things done. Walk home. Walk to Zeidler Square. See several squirrels running all over the place. They watch me. They run to the spots where I put down the peanuts and sunflower seeds and fill their faces as much as they can before running off. Walk back home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive to the House of Correction. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Eat lunch. Walk to the office. Do a consultation over the phone with a client up in prison. It starts raining. Not in a nice mood most of the day. Walk home in the rain. At night watch “The Killing Fields” (1984).
In the morning drive south across the southern border with Illinois. Walk along the lakefront. Walk to Zion. See a black squirrel. Listen to the Packers beat the Bears at the last second by blocking a field goal attempt. Drive home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. In the afternoon walk south across the 6th Street bridge. Walk down to the lakefront by the Horn bridge. Listen to Harvard beat Penn. Walk home.
In the morning drive to Waukesha. Walk around Waukesha while listening to the second day of the livestream of the State Public Defender conference. Walk north to a big subdivision under construction. Walk east towards the Waukesha County Courthouse. Turn south. Walk to Sunset Drive. Walk back to my car. Drive home.
In the morning drive to Waukesha. Walk around Waukesha all day while listening to the livestream of the State Public Defender Conference. Walk to the UW-Waukesha campus. This is the last year for this college. It will close in the spring. Walk east past Carroll University. This is not the last year for this college. Walk back to my car. Drive home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Eat lunch. Walk back to the office. Work a little more. Walk home. Walk to the lakefront. Walk north to Lake Park. Walk back home as the sun breaks out.
In the morning walk to the office. Work on several things. Walk home. Walk down to the lakefront. Walk north to the Brady Street bridge. Walk up to Prospect Avenue. Walk to Juneau Park. Walk back to the office. Don’t work much. Walk home. Listen to more episodes of X minus One.

In the morning drive south into Illinois. Walk east. Walk south. It starts to rain heavily. Keep going. Walk west. Walk north through the Wadsworth Savannah Forest Preserve again. The whole forest glows around me. Walk back to my car. Drive home.
