No ducks again

In the morning walk down to the lagoon. No ducks again. In the afternoon walk back down to the lagoon. Still no ducks. Get very tired at sunset. Decide to remain on the couch and surf Youtube. Go to bed early.

The kids are very excited

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. It is really cold. No ducks. Later that morning walk back down to the lagoon. Still no ducks. In the afternoon drive to Heather’s house. Listen to the Milwaukee Bucks tipoff against the Golden State Warriors. Arrive at Heather’s house. Go in to open presents and eat a delicious steak dinner. The kids are very excited to open the presents I got for them. Watch the Minnesota Vikings get crushed by the New Orleans Saints on Bryce’s iPad.

Fly right past me

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. Put out seed for the ducks. Walk down there two more times during the day. They are always waiting for me. Along the way during the second walk to the lagoon, a group of geese fly right past me. What an amazing sight! Go to the office for a bit to work on accounting. Clean the kitchen at night.

Hide and seek with Xena

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. Put out seed for the ducks. No geese are there. Go to the office. Work all morning. Do a couple of court hearings using my desk computer. In the afternoon drive to Lorena’s house. Drop of Christmas presents for her and Xena. Play hide and seek with Xena. She is constantly laughing and smiling. I have never seen a child so full of positive energy. When I leave she runs to me and hugs me goodbye. At night go to Orangetheory.

Standing or sitting

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. There are no ducks there. Start to put out the seed anyway. Then suddenly the ducks begin to drop out of the sky. They gather one by one until the whole gang is there. Drive to the courthouse. Go in for a sentencing hearing. It is real court. After it is over step out in the hallway to do a Zoom hearing. It is unreal court. Drive home. Walk back down to the lagoon in the afternoon. There are a handful of geese there but no ducks. They are either standing on the ice or sitting in the spots where the water has opened up. It has been a little warmer recently and some melting has taken hold on the lagoon. Walk home. Get super tired out of nowhere. Go take a nap. Slowly recover enough to get back up and watch you tube videos before going back to bed.

Being a lawyer in 2020

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. Put out seed for the ducks and the geese. Drive to the courthouse. Run around all morning doing live hearings while I have earphones in so I can drop in and out of Zoom hearings. It is a frantic mix of the old and the new way of being a lawyer in 2020. In the afternoon return for a second round. Later go home and lay down on the couch and zone out. At night go to Orangetheory. There are several gorgeous women there tonight by the way.

See a bunny rabbit next to my car

In the morning sweep up the shells from the bird seed I have been putting down in the parking lot for the dark eyed Juncos. Put down to fresh batch of seed. Walk down to the lakefront. Put out seed for the ducks and the geese. Do a water change on the fish tank. Trim the plants a bit. Clean the debris out from under the rocks too. In the afternoon walk up the Oak Leaf trail to Capitol Drive. Stop at Culver’s for a caramel sundae. Walk home as it gets dark. Listen to NFL games. When I get back home look to see a bunny rabbit next to my car eating the bird seed I have put out for the Juncos!

They see me as a friend

In the morning walk down to the lagoon. Put out seed for the ducks. They were waiting for me to show up. The ducks are far more willing to come up close to me lately. They see me as a friend. It’s nice. Drive out to the House of Correction. Go in for a couple of consultations. Drive home. In the afternoon relax a bit. At night walk around the parks with Christmas decorations again while listening to the Green Bay Packers hold on to beat the Carolina Panthers. The Packers are having a very good season so far.

Creative gift making adventure

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. Put out seed for the ducks and the geese. There are several squirrels now that are joining in this morning ritual. They crawl up and down the Bodhi tree grabbing as many peanuts as they can stuff in their mouths. Drive back home. Do a couple of court hearings sitting on my couch using my cell phone over the Zoom app. Drive to the House of Correction. Go in for a couple of consultations. Stop at Culver’s for a cheeseburger and a hot fudge sundae. Drive to Sam’s Club. Get supplies. Stop at Pick N’ Save. Buy bags of candy and a couple cookie tins. Get a string of garland. Take it home. Build presents of candy and cash out of it for my nephew and niece. Very proud of my creative gift making adventure.

Slip and fall

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. No ducks. No geese. Feel sad. Turn to leave. Wait. I hear something. I turn around. I see geese and ducks out on the frozen lagoon. They begin to walk toward me. They see its me. They start to run faster. Some of them slip and fall over as they try to run across the ice. They come ashore. I put down the seed. They are back. I am very happy. I stay with them for a little while as they eat. This is very nice. I walk away with a big smile on my face. Drive to MSDF. Go in for a parole-probation revocation hearing. Do a good job. Go to the office. Work all afternoon. Go to Orangetheory. The sexy woman on the rower next to me asks me for my name. Very nice.
