Bright and shiny

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. The ducks and geese are waiting for me. Put out seed for them. It is a very bright and shiny sunrise this morning. Because of the warmer temperatures the snow is beginning to get slushy and sloppy. Drive home. Walk up to the office. Work all day on a wide variety of tasks. Walk home. Work around the house. At night relax on the couch.

Flock

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. There is a huge flock of ducks and geese waiting for me. This is back to what it was like last summer and fall. Put out bags of seed. There is some sharing and some fighting amongst the geese. The ducks just keep eating through that drama. Drive home. Drive to the courthouse. Go into the jail for a consultation. Go to court for a preliminary hearing. All other lawyers are on Zoom. I am the only lawyer showing up to the courtroom. In the afternoon work at the office. At night go to Orangetheory. Watch “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” (2011).

Squaking all around

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. Put out seed for the ducks. No one is there. Drive home. Walk back down to the lagoon later in the morning. Now there are a whole bunch of geese there. They are standing around waiting for me. Walk over and drop the seed down. They gather around and eat. There is a great deal of squaking all around. Walk home. Walk up to the office. Do some work to get ready for tomorrow. Walk back home. Do a water change on the fish tank. In the afternoon walk to Bay View. Walk to Lincoln Avenue. Walk west to 27th Street. Walk north across the viaduct. Walk east on Wisconsin Avenue. At night watch “The Killing of a Chinese Bookie” (1976).

Camped out at the Bodhi tree

In the morning walk down to the lagoon. There is a suprise waiting there. Several geese are camped out in the shadow of the Bodhi tree. Geese have not been out here for most of this winter. They were picking at the dust from the food that has been put out there. Put down a couple of bags. They happily eat it all up. Walk home. At night do the laundry and clean the kitchen. Lazy day.

Check out the frozen shoreline

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go back in to finish court trial from yesterday. In the afternoon walk down to the lagoon. Put out seed for the ducks. Walk up the lakefront. Check out the frozen shoreline. Walk around in a good mood. Walk up the stairway to the Northpoint tower. Walk down Farwell Avenue. Stop at Pizza Shuttle. Get a pizza and garlic bread. Uphill through the snow

Wake up to a snowstorm. Watch a Batman cartoon until the snow stops. Drive to the courthouse in the late morning. My car spins out on the way there. Struggle to drive it uphill through the snow. Eventually get there. Go to the jail for a consultation. Go to the courthouse for a hearing. I am the only attorney that showed up for live court. Everyone else Zoomed in. Drive home. The route home is blocked off for the anticipated arrival of President Joe Biden tonight. Drive another way. In the late afternoon walk to get eggplant fries. Lay around all night and do nothing.

The file room

In the morning drive down to the lagoon. Coldest weather so far this winter. The air stings my hands and face. The food from yesterday is still here. Even the peanuts are still here. It was too cold for the animals to come to the Bodhi tree. Drive home. Drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Later go to the Safety Building for a court hearing. In the afternoon walk to the office. The cold is crushing. Work all afternoon cleaning and organizing the file room. This is the most organized it has ever been. Nice work. Walk home. Go to Orangetheory at night. Struggle with everything. Knee hurts. Have to powerwalk on the treadmill.
