It is a nice warm and sunny day. The fall colors are blazing. In the morning ride my bike up the Oak Leaf trail to Capitol Drive. Walk from there up the trail some more and back. Ride my bike south to Lincoln Avenue. Walk from there to the Forest Home Cemetery. Walk back to my bike. Ride back home.


In the morning drive out to the House of Correction. Go in for a consultation. Drive back downtown to the jail. Go in for another consultation. In the afternoon drive to Lorena’s house. Play with Xena in the backyard. Today she is a real estate agent and is showing me a property she has for sale. We take a best friends selfie together. Drive home. Walk down to the lakefront at sunset.

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. In the afternoon drive to Lorena’s house. Play with Xena in the backyard. She still has the toy cell phone. She takes my picture with it. Drive home. Walk up Prospect Avenue to North Avenue. Stop at Ian’s for pizza. Walk home.

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Get tired. Go home and lay on the couch and watch “Barry Lyndon” (1975). In the afternoon drive to Lorena’s house. Xena has a toy cell phone that she is very fond of. She pretends to take calls on it and sends texts too!

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Cross examine witnesses. During a break in the trial, the client leaves the courthouse and cuts off his ankle monitor. The trial continues without him. I defend an empty chair the rest of the day. At night I crash on the couch as it rains outside.

In the morning drive to the courthouse for two jury trials. One is adjourned. One is not. In the afternoon pick a jury. At night watch “My Cousin Vinny” (1992).

In the morning drive to 92nd Street and Bluemound Road. Get out and walk south to Greenfield Avenue. Walk west to Brookfield Road. Listen to American Top 40 countdown from this week in 1983. Walk to Kopp’s. Get a cheeseburger. Walk east on Bluemound Road back to my car. Drive home.

In the morning walk to the office. Prepare two cases for jury trial on Monday. In the afternoon ride my bike to Cudahy. It is warm and sunny like summer. Walk south through Warnimont Park and Sheridan Park. Walk back to my bike. See lots of fall colors and skulls on the way back. Ride my bike to The Comales. Eat four tacos. At night walk along the riverwalk out to Kadish Park. Walk back home.



In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive to Sam’s Club. Buy water, Diet Coke and other supplies. Drive to Farm and Fleet. Buy bird seed. Drive home. In the afternoon walk to the lakefront. It is like summer again. Over 70 degrees! Three nice witches decided to put a warming spell over the city. Walk to UW-Milwaukee. Walk back home.
