Don't Worry, Be Happy
In the morning walk down to the lagoon. Put peanuts in the Bodhi tree for the squirrels. In the afternoon ride my bike to McCoy Field in Brookfield. Watch the Land o’ Lakes baseball game The Dousman Frogs beat the Brookfied Blue Sox 2-1 in extra innings. Ride to Emperor’s Kitchen. Get a takeout order. Stop to listen to a Shriner play saxophone at the Biergarten that is set up in the parking lot. Ride bike back home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work on a few things. Walk home. It starts to rain. My left calf muscle is very sore. Watch “Pale Rider” (1985).
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Run around doing live hearings and Zoom hearings. Take an afternoon nap. At night listen to the Bucks stomp on the Hawks to even the playoff series at 1-1.
In the morning go to the office. Do a couple of hearings over Zoom. Work on several files. Go to Orangetheory for the 4:15 PM class. Not many people there. At night watch “Marie Antoinette” (2006).
In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Go into the courthouse for hearings. Drive to Lorena’s house. Xena is at the table playing. She has a little doll named “Kayla”. The doll is selling her furniture. I buy it and haul it away. Then she wants it back. I sell it back to her and move the furniture back in. This goes on over and over. Walk to the office. Do a court hearing over Zoom. Walk home. Go to Orangetheory. At night walk over to the Fiserv Forum. There is a big crowd there for the Bucks playoff game. The Bucks lose. Frustrating.
In the morning walk to the office. Work on a few things. Drive to Lorena’s house. Play with Xena on the sidewalk. She says that her flowers are more beautiful than mine. That is accurate. Drive home. Do a court hearing while sitting on my couch. Walk to Brady Street. At night watch “Young Guns” (1988).
In the morning drive to the Safety Building. Go in for jury trial. Adjourned until tomorrow. Go to the fourth floor. Do hearings over Zoom while sitting in the hallway. Drive home. Take a nap. Go to Orangetheory. Full class. People are tripping all over each other. Nobody has been in a full class since the pandemic started. Do the Inferno workout.
In the morning drive back home from Madison. Walk to the store to get lunch. It starts raining. Drive to Heather’s house. Eat hotdogs and brats. Drive home.
Ride the Military Ridge State Trail all the way from Madison to Dodgeville. On the way back stop at the Cave of the Mounds and go into the caves. Nothing about it has changed since I saw it last in the fourth grade. Ride back to Madison. At night watch the Bucks win game seven of the playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets. The Bucks move on.
In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk over to MSDF. Go in for another consultation. Drive to Lorena’s house. Hang out with Xena. Drive to Madison. Ride my bike all over the University and the Capitol.
