Champions shirt

In the morning walk to the office. Do a bunch of court hearings over Zoom. Drive to the courthouse. Do a live court hearing there. Drive to Lorena’s house. Xena is wearing the Milwaukee Bucks champions shirt that I got for her. We play with the dolls she has with her this morning. Drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. In the late afternoon go to a live court hearing. Later walk up Water Street and over to Brady Street. Walk north on Farwell Avenue. Walk to Northpoint. Walk down to the lake. Walk along the lakefront back home. Watch “Stardust Memories” (1980).

Pleasantville

In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Go to the courthouse for a preliminary hearing. Drive home. Watch “Pleasantville” (1998). Later walk up Prospect Avenue. Continue up Downer Avenue. Walk to Locust Street. Walk down to the lake. Walk along the lakefront back home.

Jasmine

In the morning walk to the office. Do a couple of hearings over Zoom. Drive to Lorena’s house. Xena is playing with a doll. She shows the doll off for me. “What is her name?”, I ask. “Jasmine”, she says. We pretend to be caught in a tornado again. It is super humid. I am soaking wet in my suit within a few minutes from all the running around. In the afternoon do another court hearing over Zoom. Later try to walk up prospect Avenue. It begins to rain heavily. Duck into the CVS on Brady Street and do some shopping until it stops raining. Walk home.

Picnic Park

In the morning from my hotel to the Marathon County Jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive to a self serve car wash. Scrub down my car. It is clean again. Walk around a park. Walk out to Picnic Island. Walk around. It is peaceful out here. Drive to the Wausau Mine Company for lunch. The whole restaurant is made out to look like you are eating in an underground mine. Eat a BLT. Drive to the Marathon County Courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive back to Milwaukee. At sunset walk down to the lakefront.

Marshfield, Wausau and Rib Mountain

In the morning drive to Wausau. Walk all around the McMillan Marsh and Wildlife refuge. See little frogs jumping around in front of me as I walk. Bugs keep biting at me. Drive to Wausau. Walk around the city. See people in kayaks struggling to paddle up the Wisconsin river. Drive to Rib Mountain. Walk to the highest point. Drive to my hotel. Go to bed.

War and Peace

In the morning walk to the office. Work on a few files. Walk home. Pack up for my trip to Wausau. It starts to rain on and off. Lay around the rest of the day and watch the epic Russian film of Tolstoy’s War and Peace (1966-1967).

Look up at the big buildings

In the morning walk to the office. Do a hearing over Zoom. Walk to Groom. Get a haircut. In the afternoon do a telephone consultation with an inmate up north in prison. Walk east down Wisconsin Avenue. Look up at the big buildings. Walk north on Prospect Avenue to Northpoint. Walk back home along the lakefront.

In the morning walk to the office. Do a bunch of court hearings over Zoom. In the afternoon stay at the office for more court hearings over Zoom. After work walk up Brady Street. Continue walking out to Lake Park. Walk home along the lakefront. Enjoy a Ka’chava shake after I get home.

Tornado

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. Drive to Lorena’s new house. Play with Xena in the backyard. Today she pretends to be caught in a tornado. She runs in a circle. She yells: “Help me! It’s Xena!”. I run after her in a circle then catch her and pick her up and run off with her. We do this over and over again. In the afternoon work more at the office. Later walk north to Locust Street. Walk east to the lakefront. Walk back home.
