Union Art Gallery

In the morning walk to the office. Clear everything off my desk. In the afternoon do a court hearing at my office over Zoom. Walk to UW-Milwaukee. Go to the Union Art Gallery. Look around. Walk to the lakefront. Walk home as the sun sets to the west and the moon rises in the east.

Poster sale

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Do live court hearings and sit in the hallway to do Zoom court hearings. In the afternoon walk to the office. Do more court hearings over Zoom. Walk to UW-Milwaukee. Stop at the poster sale going on in the student union. Walk south along the lakefront on my way back home.

Chariots of Fire

In the morning drive to the Safety Building. A sudden storm hits. Sit in the courtroom listening to the loud thunder. Go to several court hearings. In the afternoon drive back to the jail and go in for consultations. At night watch “Chariots of Fire” (1981).

Mexican Independence and the NFL

Today is opening day in the NFL. Walk to 27th Street. Walk over to the Mitchell Park Domes. See cars and trucks pull in with Mexican flags. They are gathering to form a parade to ride around the city for Mexican Independence day. Walk south to Becher Street. Walk down to 16th Street. Listen to the Chargers beat the Washington Football Team. Walk up 16th. See the parade of cars and trucks celebrating Mexican Independence. Listen to the Packers get clobbered by the Saints. Walk north to Wisconsin Avenue. An offshoot of the parade comes downtown. It starts to rain.

The Frozen Sisters

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. In the afternoon go to Lorena’s house. Hang out with Xena. Today I brought over dolls of the Frozen sisters for her. The dolls sing when you press on them. Xena immediately lights up and sings along with the dolls. She is thrilled. She puts the dolls in a toy car and drives them all over the yard. In the later afternoon go for a walk to Bay View. Walk up to 16th Street. Stop into Los Comales for tacos.

Cops and robbers

In the morning walk to the office. Do a court hearing over Zoom. Sneak out of work to go for a walk. It is too sunny and nice to sit in the office. Walk to Locust Street. Walk back home by way of the Oak Leaf Trail. Clean the house. Drive back to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. At sunset drive to Lorena’s house. Today Xena pretends to be a police officer. I am a robber. I steal money from an old lady. Then I run around. Xena chases me. After a while she catches me and takes me to jail. Then she sentences me to stay in jail “forever”. After a few seconds she lets me out though. Then the whole thing starts over. We have so much fun.

9/11 memorial on the plaza

In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a couple of consultations. Drive to the House of Correction. Go in for another consultation. Drive home. In the afternoon walk to UW-Milwaukee. There is a 9/11 memorial on the plaza next to the student union. It is a nice and sunny day again.

The Color of Money

In the morning walk to the office. Do a court hearing over Zoom. Don’t feel like working anymore today. Walk to UW-Milwaukee. A lady in the student union yells at me to cover my nose with my facemask. Fucking Covid. Walk home. At night watch “The Color of Money” (1986).

Fort Apache, The Bronx

In the morning drive to Racine. Go into the jail for a consultation. Drive back to Milwaukee. In the afternoon walk to the office. Do a couple of court hearings over Zoom. Later try to go for a walk. My legs are sore and weak. Give up around Water Street and Holton Avenue. Walk back home. At night watch “Fort Apache, The Bronx” (1981).

A new Barbie doll

In the morning walk to Lorena’s house. Bring a new Barbie doll for Xena. She names her “Kayla”. This seems to be her go-to name for all her Barbie dolls. We run around the yard. We have fun. In the late afternoon walk along the lakefront. At night watch “Absence of Malice” (1981).
