Country roads in the rain

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. In the afternoon drive to New Berlin. Walk around country roads in the rain. Listen to the Brewers hang on for a 1-0 win over the San Diego Padres. Drive home.

Thigh high boots

In the morning drive to Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road. Get out and walk west to Highway 164. Walk south to Waukesha. It is bright and sunny. It gets to 80 degrees. Suddenly the sky begins to turn dark. A quick rainstorm blows through. I wait it out a McDonald’s. See a beautiful girl in thigh high boots strut around the restaurant. After the rain clears walk east to Kopp’s. Go in for an ice cream cone. The sun comes back. Walk back to my car in pain. Drive home.

A bit of a daze

Get up early. Drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk over to the Safety Building. Go in for a homicide sentencing, a drug case plea and sentencing, a status hearing and then a preliminary hearing. Drive home. Walk in a daze to Brady Street. Walk north on Farwell Avenue. Walk back home. Still in a bit of a daze.

Back down Wisconsin Avenue

In the morning walk to the office. Do a couple of hearings over Zoom. In the afternoon drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk over to the courthouse for more hearings. In the afternoon walk up State Street and back down Wisconsin Avenue.

Out of class for the day

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a little while. Drive to Pewaukee. Walk south to Summit Avenue. Walk around a subdivision. Walk to Lowell Elementary School as the kids are getting out of class for the day. Walk back to my car in considerable pain. Drive home. At night watch “Network” (1976).

This place is a little fucked up

In the morning drive to Highway 83. Get out and walk south to Wales. Walk east on the Glacial Drumlin trail out to Waukesha. Stop at McDonald’s. They are unable to handle the crowd that is there. I say to a group of teenagers, “I think this place is a little fucked up.” They nod in agreement. Walk north to the Lake Country trail. The last two hours of the walk are total torture. I was out here over 8 hours.

LeDuc’s

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a little while. Drive west to Highway 83. Walk south to Wales. Stop at LeDuc’s Frozen Custard. Eat a sundae while two little girls try to break dance all over the place. Walk west on the Glacial Drumlin trail to Sawyer Road. Walk north to the Lake Country trail. Walk back to my car. Drive home.

The big sky envelops me

In the morning drive to Delafield. Walk west on the Lake Country trail out to Oconomowoc. No crops are planted in the large farmlands. The big sky envelops me. Walk around Fowler Lake. Walk back to my car. Drive home.

To the end of it

In the morning clean around the house. In the afternoon go to get a haircut. Later drive to Ryan Road. Drive east to the end of it. Walk south to Seven Mile Road. Walk west to Nicholson Road. Walk back to the car. Go grocery shopping. Drive home.

The Picnic Basket

In the morning drive to Delafield. Walk west on the Lake Country trail. Walk north through downtown Delafield. Stop at The Picnic Basket for a delicious BLT. Walk east to Hartland. Walk east towards Pewaukee. Turn around and walk back to my car. Drive home.
