Don't Worry, Be Happy
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive to the office. Go in for work on a few files. Drive back to the courthouse. Go inside and pick a jury on another case. Drive home. Clean the kitchen. Go to Orangetheory. Spend most of the workout in the red zone. Collect a bunch of splat points.
In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Drive back home. In the afternoon walk to the southside. Start off feeling down but my mood improves as the walk continues. Listen to the Washington Football Team hold off the Tampa Bay Buccanears. Then listen to the Green Bay Packers shut out the Seattle Seahawks. The sun starts to come out just before it sets. Stop at Zeidler Square. Take a picture. The light effects the shot. It comes out looking like a Van Gogh painting. Walk back home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work all morning. In the afternoon walk up the Oak Leaf Trail out to Capitol Drive. Stop at Culver’s for lunch. Walk back down Oakland Avenue. The fall colors are glowing. Listen to Harvard beat the Penn Quakers. My legs get very sore on the walk.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a couple of hearings. Walk to the office. Work for a while. In the afternoon walk to UW-Milwaukee. Fall is beginning its turn into winter. Walk to the student union. The balloon Pounce Panther is gone. Walk home as the sun sets.
Rainy morning. Drive to the courthouse. Go in for a couple of hearings. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk to UW-Milwaukee. Walk to the student union. There is a gigantic balloon Pounce Panther in the lobby. Walk back home as it gets dark.
Last day in Lacrosse. In the morning drive to the Lacrosse County Courthouse. Go in to make closing arguments to the jury. Walk around downtown Lacrosse while waiting for the verdict. Drive back to the hotel. Pack up. Drive home.
In the morning drive to the Lacrosse County Courthouse. Go in all day for jury trial. Over lunch walk down to Riverside Park. Walk along the Mississippi River. At sunset walk again across the Mississippi River Bridge. Walk around Pettibone Park. Stop at a nice restaurant for a steak dinner. Drive back to the hotel.
In the morning drive to the Lacrosse County Courthouse. Go in for jury selection. In the afternoon drive to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine. Walk around. Drive up to Grandad Bluff. Look out over Lacrosse and beyond to where the Earth curves. Drive to the Mississippi River Bridge. Walk out to Pettibone park again. Stop at the Lacrosse County Jail for a consultation. Drive back to the hotel.
In the morning drive to the grocery store. Pick up soda and water and pretzels for the trip I am about to start. Pack up. Drive to the Secure Detention Facility. Go in for a consultation. Drive west to Lacrosse. Park downtown. Walk across the Mississippi River Bridge to Pettibone Park. Listen to the Minnesota Vikings choke and lose in overtime to the Baltimore Ravens. Walk to UW-Lacrosse. Walk around the campus as the sun sets. Drive to my hotel. Check in. Get a pizza for dinner.
Walk to UW-Milwaukee. Stop at Englemann Stadium. Watch the UW-Milwaukee women’s soccer team win the Horizon League title. The fans run on the field after the game. The team celebrates. They are champions. Walk home as the sun sets.
