Might have missed it

In the morning drive to the courthouse. See a dead cockroach on my way into the building. In the afternoon walk to the office. Work on several files. At sunset walk around downtown and put out peanuts for the squirrels. Sit down on a bench in Red Arrow Park. Start going through my iPhone. Look up. See a colorful sky. I might have missed it if I hadn’t gotten my face up from that screen. Walk home. Work around the house for a while.

Symmetrical

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a jury trial. Case is adjourned. The prosecutor has Covid. Do a preliminary hearing. Drive home. Walk around downtown and put out peanuts for the squirrels. The clouds look symmetrical. Walk to the office. Work all afternoon. At night go to Orangetheory.

Hello

In the morning drive to the grocery store. Drive out to Petco on 76th Street. Buy some frozen blood worms for the fishes. Drive home. Clean out the filter on the fish tank. It was badly needed this time. In the afternoon walk around downtown and put out peanuts for the squirrels. One squirrel comes down to say hello to me. Walk south to Greenfield Avenue. Walk west to 16th Street. Walk north across the viaduct. Walk to Marquette. Not impressed with the reconstruction around the St. Joan of Arc chapel. Walk home.

In the morning walk around downtown and put out peanuts for the squirrels. In the afternoon walk up the Oak Leaf trail to Capitol Drive. Stop at Culver’s. It is closed. Really? Makes no sense to close for New Year’s Day. Walk south to North Avenue. Stop at Ian’s for a couple of slices of pizza instead. They are open. Walk home. At night watch “The Conversation” (1974).

Plastic walkers

Still feeling sick. Walk around downtown a couple of times. Walk back the ice skating rink. People are trying to skate. Many are struggling. Some are falling. Some little kids use plastic walkers to hang on to while they skate. Try to stay up to Midnight for New Year’s. Doesn’t work.

Shrug it off

In the morning walk to the office. My legs are very sore. This is probably from Covid. I am used to feeling like that from Orangetheory and my long walks so I shrug it off. Make two phone calls to client’s locked up in prisons up north. Walk home. Lay around most of the rest of the day.

Start

In the morning walk to the office. Start to feel sick. Sore throat and muscle aches. This sucks. It also starts to snow. Walk to Pick N’Save to buy cold medicine. Walk home. At night watch “Chicago” (2002).

Only six of us

In the morning walk to the office. Do a preliminary hearing over Zoom. In the afternoon take a long winter’s nap. At night drag myself to Orangetheory. There are only six of us working out tonight.
