Back and forth over the border

In the morning drive to Lorena’s new apartment. Drop off Christmas presents for her and for Xena. I miss Xena. Drive south across the Illinois border. Walk east to Lake Michigan. Walk around the marina down there. See a goose sitting on the ice. Throw out a few Cheetos Puffs to it. Walk north back into Wisconsin. Walk west. Walk south back to my car. Drive home.

No kids falling down

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several projects. Walk home. Eat lunch. In the later afternoon walk around downtown. See the ice rink in Red Arrow Park. Don’t see any kids falling down on the ice though. Walk home.

Quarter tank of gas is gone

In the morning drive to Tremper High School in Kenosha. Walk south across the Illinois border. Walk east a ways. Walk north again. Walk back to my car. The car is already running and the door is unlocked. Did I leave the car running like that the whole time I was hiking? Looks like a quarter tank of gas is gone. Did that really happen?

Trudge through the snow

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Drive to 60th Street. Walk south to Lincoln Avenue. Walk west to Greenfield Park. The paths around the golf course are not paved. Trudge through the snow. Walk back to my car. Drive home.

Last court appearance of 2024

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. The last court appearance of 2024. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Walk to Zeidler Square. See a squirrel crawling up a tree. Toss around peanuts. Walk home. Take a nap. Feel a little bit more energy flowing my way.

Sitting on the courthouse steps

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a jury trial. My client is testifying. It goes well. Walk over to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Eat a snickers bar while sitting on the courthouse steps. Go up to the 6th floor for a sentencing hearing. Drive home. Try to go for a walk but decide that I am too drained to do so. Lay on the couch instead.

NBA Champions Cup

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for hearings. Drive to the House of Correction. Go in for a consultation. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. At night listen to the Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA Champions Cup over the Oklahoma City Thunder from Las Vegas, Nevada.
