Don't Worry, Be Happy
In the morning walk to the office. Work on getting file ready for next week. Walk home. Drive to 84th and Wisconsin. Walk west to Highway 100. Walk north to North Avenue. Walk east again. Work back to my car. Drive home. It rains off and on.
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a quick hearing. Walk over to the jail. Go in for consultatuions. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Make phone calls to clients. Walk to Wheel and Sprocket in Bay View. Put money down on a new bike. Walk home. It reaches into the upper 70’s. Feels like summer.
In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for several consultations. Drive home. Walk along Prospect Avenue out to Lake Park. Walk back home. Drive to Brookfield. Go in for hibachi supper for Elise’s 16th birthday. Drive home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. Walk home. In the afternoon drive to 84th and Bluemound Road. Walk west. Walk to Mayfair Mall. Go to the food court. There are many kids here as they are out of school for spring break. Walk east back to my car. Drive home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Eat lunch. Walk back to the office. Work some more. Walk to the grocery store. Walk home. At night watch “Captain America: Brave New World” (2025).
In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for hearings. Drive home. Walk back to the courthouse to go in and pick up some discovery discs. Walk back to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Walk south to Bay View. Stop and look at e-bikes. Walk home.
In the morning drive to Brookfield Road and Capitol Drive. Walk into Sendik’s to get fancy donuts. Walk north into some subvisions. Walk east to 117th Street. Walk south to North Avenue. It starts out partly sunny. Then dark clouds begin to move in. Then it gently rains. Then it fucking pours on me. Get back to my car soaking wet. Drive home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work briefly. Walk home. Clean out the filter on the fish tank. Find another fish living in the filter. It is much bigger than the last one I found in there. Put it in the aquarium. Think about Plato’s “The Allegory of the Cave” (380-360 BC). In the afternoon walk down to the lakefront. Throw out bread, seed and peanuts to the usual group of animal friends. Walk home.
In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. Walk home. Eat lunch. Walk back to the office. Work a little more. Walk home. Walk south to National Avenue again. Walk down to the lakefront. Walk through the empty parking lots surrounding Summerfest. Walk home.
In the morning drive to the courthouse for a plea and sentencing. Client gets a much better result than I thought he would. Drive home. Eat lunch. In the afternoon drive back to the courthouse for more hearings. Drive home. Walk south to National Avenue. Walk back to Lake Michigan. Walk home.
