Recover my energy

In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk over to the Safety Building for a plea hearing. Drive home. Get tired and decide I am burnt out. Recover my energy however and walk along the lakefront way out to UW-Milwaukee. Find a group of geese and throw out a bag of bread to them. Gulls swoop in and snatch some pieces away for themselves. Walk back home along the Oak Leaf trail. My calves are sore most of the walk back home.

Get caught up

In the morning drive to the courthouse for jury trial. Case is adjourned. Drive home. Walk to the office. Get caught up in a rainstorm. Work for a while. Walk home. Sun is back out. Walk to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk home.

Downhill Racer

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Drive home. Eat lunch. Drive back to the courthouse for another hearing. Drive home. At night watch “Downhill Racer” (1969).

The moment

In the morning walk to the office. Work on a variety of matters. Walk home. Ride my bike west to 76th Street. Walk further west on the Hank Aaron trail. Walk to Highway 100. Walk back my bike. Stop to see a monarch butterfly enjoying a lavender flower. Capture the moment by taking a picture. The moment now exists in three times and places: the moment itself, my memory of the moment and the photographic recording of the same moment.

Trauma is all gone

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for jury trial. Argue the case to the jury. Get a verdict in the afternoon. Walk to Brady Street. Walk east down to the lakefront. See a group of geese being harrassed by an asshole dog. I come by right after with a bag of bread for them and their trauma is all gone. Walk home.
