Day of Action

Walk to the office in the morning. Organize files. Return e-mails. Make phone calls. Get my list of to-do’s all done. Walk to Water Street to pick up a file from another attorney. Walk home for lunch. Go to the courthouse to pick up discovery from the DA’s office. Go to the jail for consultations. In the late afternoon, walk south on First Street to National Avenue. Eat tacos for dinner at Cieleto Lindo. Walk back north on Second Street. Go back home and do a water change on the fish tank. Prune the plants. The fish zip all around while I work on their tank. Go to Orange Theory. Lay on the couch at the end of the night smiling with pride from my day of action.

Another snowstorm

Another snowstorm hits the city. Go to the office and get very little work done. Walk to the U.S. Bank Tower for lunch. Go home early. Walk up St. Paul Avenue in the snow. Walk across the Marquette campus. Walk back down Wisconsin Avenue.

Filter frustration

Go to court in the morning for jury trial. Adjourned due to too many cases set for trial in the same court. Go home and take a nap. Clean the small filter on the fish tank. It is very frustrating to get it started up again. Go to Orange Theory.

Lake Michigan is frozen over

Walk along the lakefront to Northpoint. Lake Michigan is frozen over. Walk up North Avenue. Have lunch at home. Sleep for a few minutes. Walk up St. Paul Avenue to 16th Street. Climb the stairs to the 16th Street Viaduct. Walk to National Avenue. Light turns to dark. Walk east to 1st Street. Walk back home.

Its Friday

Go to the Safety Building in the morning. Litigate a suppression motion. Try to throw out client’s confession to the police. Run out of time so no decision by the court. While waiting for that case to be called the judge appoints me to represent another defendant. Go home. Fall asleep. Take a nap. Wake up refreshed. Go to Orange Theory. Have a great workout. Relax at night while listening to The Beatles.

Verdict and more Kristine

Go to court for jury trial. Present testimony. Argue the case to the jury. Verdict goes against the client. Afterwards however the judge tells me that the jury told her they really liked me and I did a good job. I feel happy about that. Go get Kristine. Take her to my office. Do her tax returns. Take her back home with me. Have a whole lot of fun with Kristine. Awesome fun. Go get chinese food for dinner. Overall a great day.

Jury trial in the Safety Building

Go to the Safety Building for jury trial. Slept ok but was woken up in the middle of the night by the fire alarm going off. Pick jury in the morning. Have tacos for lunch at the Courthouse Cafe. Cross examine the prosecution witnesses in the afternoon. Go to Orange Theory.

Court up north again

Drive to Green Bay while listening to lectures about World War I. Go to a hearing at the Brown County Courthouse. Drive home while listening to a variety of radio stations playing different kinds of music. Go to bed early again tonight.

Energy Drain

Go the jail in the morning for consultations. Go home for lunch. Go back to court for sentencing. Client and his family are very happy with the outcome. I am super tired. An energy drain has taken place. Go home and crash. Sleep for eleven hours.
