In the morning drive to the Lacrosse County Courthouse. Go in all day for jury trial. Over lunch walk down to Riverside Park. Walk along the Mississippi River. At sunset walk again across the Mississippi River Bridge. Walk around Pettibone Park. Stop at a nice restaurant for a steak dinner. Drive back to the hotel.

In the morning drive to the Lacrosse County Courthouse. Go in for jury selection. In the afternoon drive to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine. Walk around. Drive up to Grandad Bluff. Look out over Lacrosse and beyond to where the Earth curves. Drive to the Mississippi River Bridge. Walk out to Pettibone park again. Stop at the Lacrosse County Jail for a consultation. Drive back to the hotel.

In the morning drive to the grocery store. Pick up soda and water and pretzels for the trip I am about to start. Pack up. Drive to the Secure Detention Facility. Go in for a consultation. Drive west to Lacrosse. Park downtown. Walk across the Mississippi River Bridge to Pettibone Park. Listen to the Minnesota Vikings choke and lose in overtime to the Baltimore Ravens. Walk to UW-Lacrosse. Walk around the campus as the sun sets. Drive to my hotel. Check in. Get a pizza for dinner.

Walk to UW-Milwaukee. Stop at Englemann Stadium. Watch the UW-Milwaukee women’s soccer team win the Horizon League title. The fans run on the field after the game. The team celebrates. They are champions. Walk home as the sun sets.

In the morning walk to the office. Attend the annual Public Defender conference over Zoom. In the afternoon walk to UW-Milwaukee. It is nice outside. The sun is reflecting off of everything. Walk down to the lakefront. Walk home as the sun sets.

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. Listen to the Zoom broadcast of the State Public Defender conference. Walk to UW-Milwaukee. Watch the Women’s soccer team win their Semi-Final match in the conference tournament.

In the morning walk to the office. Work all day on a batch of files. In the afternoon walk to UW-Milwaukee. Stop to see the Women’s soccer team practice. They are getting ready for the upcoming conference tournament. These women are serious.

In the morning check out of the hotel. It is cold up here in Green Bay. Drive to the prison. Go in for a consultation with a client. Drive back to Milwaukee. Go to the Safety Building for a sentencing hearing. Drive home. Walk up Prospect Avenue to Ian’s pizza. Go in for a couple of slices. Walk home as it gets dark. The city becomes very colorful just after dark.

In the morning drive up to Taylor County. Pull over on the way to do a court hearing over Zoom. Go to the jail up there for a consultation. There are flakes of snow in the air as I leave the jail. Drive east to Green Bay. Check into a hotel. Walk to downtown GreenBay. Walk along the Packers Heritage trial. Walk around until the sun sets.

In the morning drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk north to Capitol Drive. Stop at Culver’s for lunch. Walk back home. Drive out to Heather’s house. Sit in their driveway to watch the kids come up for Trick or Treat.
