In the morning drive from Sparta to the Milwaukee County Courthouse. It is still dark outside when I leave. The sun rises in the sky as I go east. Do a bunch of hearings. In the afternoon walk to the office. Work all afternoon. Drive back to the jail. Go in for a consultation. At night watch “The Sixth Sense” (1999).

In the morning drive to the Monroe County Courthouse. Go in for jury trial. Give a closing argument. In the afternoon get a verdict. Finally, it is done. Drive back to the hotel. Go to bed early. I will be leaving before dawn for Milwaukee.

In the morning drive to the Safety Building. Go in for a couple of hearings. Walk south to Oklahoma Avenue. Stop at the World War One memorial. My legs are sore. Not sure I can keep going. Draw in a deep breath. Keep going. Walk back home.
