In the morning try to drive to the courthouse. My car won’t start. The battery is dead. Walk to the courthouse. Go in for a hearing. Walk home. Take a nap. Call to get a battery jump. Car starts up fine. Drive around to recharge the battery real good. At night watch “Lawrence of Arabia” (1962).

In the morning walk to the office. Work on several files. In the afternoon drive to I-43 and Moorland Road. Get out and walk south to Muskego. Walk back to my car. Drive home.

In the morning walk to the office. Work on secveral files. Walk to the Downtown Kitchen for lunch. See several attractive business women running the world while eating their salads. Walk back to the office. Work all afternoon. Walk home. At night watch “The Wild Bunch” (1969).

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a while. In the afternoon drive to New Berlin. Walk around country roads in the rain. Listen to the Brewers hang on for a 1-0 win over the San Diego Padres. Drive home.

In the morning drive to Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road. Get out and walk west to Highway 164. Walk south to Waukesha. It is bright and sunny. It gets to 80 degrees. Suddenly the sky begins to turn dark. A quick rainstorm blows through. I wait it out a McDonald’s. See a beautiful girl in thigh high boots strut around the restaurant. After the rain clears walk east to Kopp’s. Go in for an ice cream cone. The sun comes back. Walk back to my car in pain. Drive home.



Get up early. Drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk over to the Safety Building. Go in for a homicide sentencing, a drug case plea and sentencing, a status hearing and then a preliminary hearing. Drive home. Walk in a daze to Brady Street. Walk north on Farwell Avenue. Walk back home. Still in a bit of a daze.

In the morning walk to the office. Do a couple of hearings over Zoom. In the afternoon drive to the jail. Go in for a consultation. Walk over to the courthouse for more hearings. In the afternoon walk up State Street and back down Wisconsin Avenue.

In the morning walk to the office. Work for a little while. Drive to Pewaukee. Walk south to Summit Avenue. Walk around a subdivision. Walk to Lowell Elementary School as the kids are getting out of class for the day. Walk back to my car in considerable pain. Drive home. At night watch “Network” (1976).


In the morning drive to Highway 83. Get out and walk south to Wales. Walk east on the Glacial Drumlin trail out to Waukesha. Stop at McDonald’s. They are unable to handle the crowd that is there. I say to a group of teenagers, “I think this place is a little fucked up.” They nod in agreement. Walk north to the Lake Country trail. The last two hours of the walk are total torture. I was out here over 8 hours.
