White smoke and champagne

In the morning drive to the courthouse. Go in for hearings. Drive home. Walk to the office. Work for a while. See that there is white smoke coming out of the chimney at the Vatican. Take a break to watch the new pope greet the crowds gathered in St. Peter’s Square. Walk home. Walk south to Walker’s Point. Throw out bread to the mother goose sitting on a flower pot on the Canal Street bridge. Her significant other gets mad and charges me. I put down seed for him and he forgets he is angry and points his beak at the sidewalk and eats. Walk to the Marquette campus. See the students taking graduation photos. See a line of girls along Wisconsin Avenue taking pictures of themselves uncorking champagne bottles. Walk back home.
